  • Our CSA share is a perfect way to taste your way through the apple season!

Every two weeks, each CSA member will pick up a 10-pound bag (1 Peck) of certified organic apples of the variety that is ready to pick that week. Pick-ups will be at one of our Chicago weekend farmers markets. There will be six biweekly share pickups between mid-August and Halloween, and then a pre-Thanksgiving share pickup in November that will include baking apples and apple cider.

  • Community Supported Agriculture is a way for farmers and consumers to share both the rewards and the risks associated with farming. Some benefits of a CSA membership (from Localharvest.org):

  • Advantages for farmers:

    • Get to spend time marketing the food early in the year, before their 16 hour days in the field begin
    • Receive payment early in the season, which helps with the farm's cash flow
    • Have an opportunity to get to know the people who eat the food they grow
  • Advantages for consumers:

    • Eat ultra-fresh food, with all the flavor and vitamin benefits
    • Get exposed to new vegetables and new ways of cooking
    • Usually get to visit the farm at least once a season
    • Develop a relationship with the farmer who grows their food and learn more about how food is grown
