Our CSA share is a perfect way to taste your way through the apple season!

CSA members receive 75 pounds of certified organic apples and two gallons of our premium apple cider annually. Every two weeks, each CSA member will pick up a 10-pound bag (1 Peck) of certified organic apples of the variety that is ready to pick that week. Pick-ups will be at one of our Chicago weekend farmers markets. There will be six biweekly share pickups between mid-August and Halloween, and then a pre-Thanksgiving share pickup in November that will include baking apples and apple cider.

Pick-ups will be at one of our Chicago weekend farmers markets, or at one of our new CSA drop locations! Now we are able to offer CSA share delivery to South Bend, Palatine, and Lake Bluff. We are also coordinating with Peasants' Plot vegetable CSA for a pick-up on Thursday evenings at the Hideout in Chicago (Bucktown/Wicker Park area).

August 20-21
September 3-4
September 17-18
October 1-2
October 15-16
October 29-30
November 19-20

Notes/Comments:

Community Supported Agriculture is a way for farmers and consumers to share both the rewards and the risks associated with farming. Some benefits of a CSA membership (from Localharvest.org):

Advantages for farmers:

  • Get to spend time marketing the food early in the year, before their 16 hour days in the field begin
  • Receive payment early in the season, which helps with the farm's cash flow
  • Have an opportunity to get to know the people who eat the food they grow

Advantages for consumers:

  • Eat ultra-fresh food, with all the flavor and vitamin benefits
  • Get exposed to new vegetables and new ways of cooking
  • Usually get to visit the farm at least once a season
  • Develop a relationship with the farmer who grows their food and learn more about how food is grown
