If you are seeking the freshest organic fruit for your family, then upick is for you! Come on out and experience a day in the country and go shopping the old-fashioned way. There are no fees for admission, parking or anything else other than for you to pay for what you pick. Starting in June and going through October, you can find sweet strawberries, blueberries and apples. You will also find an array of fruits and vegetables that you can pick, as well. Or maybe a bouquet of flowers?

Come on out and take your time – bring a lunch and enjoy a meal on a picnic table in the orchard, or spread a blanket and take a snooze. Upick is the best way for you to connect with your food and your family.

There are bathrooms available, parking and other goodies for sale. We take all forms of payment and are open Friday – Sunday (Monday for Labor Day and Indigenous Peoples’ Day), 10am – 6pm, EDT. Call 269-815-3370 during season for a ripening update.

Strawberries

Organic strawberry Upick starts the first weekend of June and goes for about 3 weeks (usually). Call for a ripe update. You will know that we are in summer when you bite into a sun-warmed strawberry on a beautiful June day!

Blueberries

Blueberries start about the 2nd week of July and go through mid-August. Our upick blueberries are Transitional (on-track for certified organic in 2024!). OUR BLUEBERRY UPICK FARM IS LOCATED AT 2938 Coloma Road, Benton Harbor, MI 49022! This is 1/2 mile west of 196, Exit 4.

Apples

Our fall upick is when things really get wild! Certified organic apples, of course, acres and acres, but there’s so much more. Winter squash, specialty and carving pumpkins and in September, virtually all produce is ripe at the same time – tomatoes, squash, peppers, eggplant and more. Plus fall is when we break out the donut machine and start making fresh apple cider donuts! Be sure to check our ripening update to learn when your favorite variety is ready.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does this work?

First, we would suggest calling the ripening update at 269-815-3370 to confirm what is ripe for this weekend. Then, just come out (no appointment needed), check-in as you come in and receive some direction as to where to pick that day. We give you containers to use for picking and then go out and enjoy! Once you are done, you come back to check in and we weigh your bounty – you only pay for what you pick. We take cash and all credit cards for payment.

How much do you charge for parking?

$0! Parking is free. Our U-Pick operation is really just an orchard where you can come pick organic apples. No expensive fancy stuff.

Where can we have a picnic?

We have several picnic tables available for you on a first-come basis. You are also welcome to spread a blanket anywhere in the orchard and picnic to your hearts’ content.

Can I camp at the farm?

Yes! We operate a single camp site that is listed on Hipcamp. All campers have access to running water and a bathroom and a nice campsite with firewood.

Frequently Asked Questions

We will provide you with something to pick your fruit into (basket, flat, bucket, depending on what you are picking). You should plan on bringing your own boxes/bags/baskets/cooler to carry your bounty home. We do have containers for sale if needed. Closed-toe shoes and socks are preferred (your ankles and shins will thank you!) and we all wear long pants when in the field and orchard. This is particularly important if you are allergic to poison ivy! We have water and other beverages available, or just bring a cup and fill your own water. Either way, remember to stay hydrated!

Are dogs okay?

We love dogs. Your dogs are welcome as long as they are under control. Remember that there may be other families and dogs in the orchard when you are there – if your dog may become aggressive or get lost, please be prepared to leash him/her.
